Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 15, 2026
This policy explains how the Longeva Student Health & Nutrition Platform ("Longeva", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information through our mobile app and nutritionist dashboard, operated for the Napoli II school nutrition pilot.
Who this applies to
Longeva is used by students (including minors), their parents or guardians, and nutritionists/clinicians assigned by participating schools. A student's data collection begins only after a parent or guardian has granted consent through the app.
Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, password (stored hashed, never in plain text), role (student, parent, or nutritionist), and preferred language.
- Health & nutrition data: date of birth, sex, height, weight, dietary restrictions, weekly check-ins (meals logged, fruit/vegetable intake, physical activity, mood, water intake), and meal photos.
- Meal photos: photos you take of meals are sent to LogMeal, a third-party food-recognition service, to help identify food items and estimate nutrition, and are stored with your check-in history.
- Parent/guardian consent records: whether consent has been granted for a student's data to be collected and used to generate recommendations.
- Nutritionist notes and risk flags: a nutritionist may add context notes or review automatically generated risk flags tied to a student's data.
- Device/technical data: standard technical information needed to operate the app securely (e.g. authentication tokens stored in your device's secure keychain).
How we use this information
- To provide the weekly check-in, meal-logging, and progress-tracking features.
- To generate personalized food recommendations, using an internal recommendation engine that processes a de-identified reference to the student (never your name or email) alongside recent food logs and profile data.
- To let an assigned nutritionist review check-ins, respond to risk flags, and support the student's care.
- To let a parent/guardian view their linked child's check-in history.
- To operate, secure, and improve the platform.
Children's privacy & parental consent
Longeva is designed for use by students under a school nutrition program and is aware that many users are minors. A student's data is only collected after a parent or guardian grants consent in the app, and personalized recommendations are withheld until that consent is confirmed. Parents/guardians may contact us at any time (see below) to review, correct, or request deletion of their child's data, or to withdraw consent.
Who can see your data
- You can always see your own data.
- A student's assigned nutritionist can see that student's check-ins, measurements, and recommendations, to support their care.
- A linked parent/guardian (with consent granted) can see their child's check-in history.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services to operate Longeva. Each processes only the specific data described, and neither is authorized to use it for their own purposes:
- LogMeal (food-recognition API) — receives meal photos to identify food items and estimate nutrition.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosts our servers and database, located in the United States.
Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the platform to your school's nutrition program. You (or, for a minor, your parent/guardian) may request deletion at any time using the contact information below.
Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) for all communication with our servers, store passwords using industry-standard hashing (never in plain text), and store authentication tokens in your device's secure keychain rather than in ordinary app storage.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, or to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
